Holding It Down

In these days, followers of Christ confront multiple challenges. The Fall of 2020 brings a season rocked by anxiety around COVID-19 and division around our nationwide election.

Walls are high, separating us from God and one another. Here’s our challenge from the Scriptures. Being God’s ambassadors in a hostile world calls us to divine maturity, where despite the profound dissonance, our Gospel message occupies higher ground. For the sake of the Kingdom, we point to a place of peace and reconciliation for our city, our country and our souls.

“Holding It Down” defines our place: growing in maturity to be more like Christ. How? The Scripture says much of it rests on our capacity to hold competing truths in such a season – mercy and justice, grace and righteousness, truth and love, judgment and forgiveness, fear and trust, love (good) and hate (evil), and so many more.

Together we’ll be “Holding It Down” this September – November, 2020. In this difficult season GraceCity, you’re invited along with all of Baltimore to join the call to maturity in Christ as we learn what it means to hold it down with confusion all around.
