Glorious: An Easter Celebration

We employ the expression “GLORIOUS” to announce something worthy of fame, admiration, beauty, and splendor. Easter fits that description GraceCity! Glorious evokes deep, resonating feelings of wonder and delight. Psalm 66:1-2 roars, “Shout for joy to God, all the earth! Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious…”

Now if asked to describe this kind of glorious praise, we would have a difficult time pointing to it or explaining it, because God’s glory resides in a category all by itself. Glory has no color, shape, or sound…but we experience it!

In this Easter season we will experience together God’s glory in worship at Christ’s triumphant entry, Jesus’ seven last words from the cross, His resurrection through the eyes of the witnesses at His tomb, and the wonder of His presence in the aftermath.

Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
I thirst.
It is finished.
Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.
