The World Through God’s Eyes

Of course our series title “The World through God’s Eyes” is presumptuous. We must all surrender to the certainty that we bring huge limitations to understanding the mystery of the Divine. God is God and we are not.

But it equally true that in His word we get a glimpse of the way God sees the world…and every glimpse brings HOPE! We talk a lot about vision in our church family and in the larger Church. Sometimes we speak about vision
in hushed tones, as though it’s a special gift reserved only for leaders and the deeply religious.

But vision is simply how we see things. For the follower of Christ, our task when it comes to vision is seeing things as God sees them. “For the Lord sees not as people see…” (1 Samuel 16:7), therefore, “open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things!” (Psalm 119:18) Here lies our HOPE to live after God’s heart GraceCity!

This fall of 2019, we want to unpack the world through God’s eyes by asking five questions over 12 weeks.
What on Earth is Going On?”
Where on earth did this come from?”
What on earth went wrong?”
Who on earth could put it right?”
How will it all end?”

There’s more in this world than meets the eye…and that’s good news for all of us!
