To address extreme – and even deadly – childhood malnutrition in Managua, Nicaragua, GraceCity is a longtime partner of OrphanNetwork, a relationship through which we provide food, support, and instruction to more than 300 young people every day.
For years, the children we now serve were so desperate that they foraged for food in nearby La Chureca, the largest garbage dump in Central America. Kids there rejoiced at discovering and eating rubbish that most of us would recoil from even touching.
While it was not previously uncommon for more than 60 percent of program participants to be deemed medically malnourished, that number currently stands at zero percent.
Through our financial and spiritual support, as well as our occasional visits, we are literally helping to change lives for the better 2,000 miles aways, just as we are in our home city through our beloved SHARPkids program, our involvement in We Our Us, and, of course, our worship and fellowship together.
